Elena Volodina

BIO

Elena Volodina took her degree in piano in 1981 at The Gnessin State Musical College and then graduated from the conducting and choral faculty of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (1987). In 1989 Elena became the artistic director and chief conductor of the Children’s Choir ‘Alye Parusa’, which she still manages. She led choral seminars at the Pedagogic Department of Moscow Institute of Open Education. Under her direction ‘Alye Parusa’ won a gold medal of the 1st Grand Prix of Nations in category ‘Children’s Choirs’ (2015) and the title “Winner of category “Musica Sacra”. In 2016 choir became the Champion of the 9th World Choir Games in Children’s Choir.

Most important achievement of the choir was the title of Champion of the European Choir Games in category “Musica Sacra with accompaniment” and twice winner of the Grand Prix of Nations 2017 in Riga. Elena is often invited to workshops at conferences and choral festivals in Russia. Also she was a member of the international jury in the 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games and Grand Prix of Nations in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2017, as well as competitions in Russia.
