The Best Conductor of the 8th Cantemus International Choir Festival, Kelvin got a Master of Arts (Music) Degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong; a Bachelor of Education (Honors) Degree from Hong Kong Baptist University, and attained the “Award for Outstanding Teaching Practice” from The Hong Kong Institute of Education.

Kelvin studied choral conducing with world-renowned choir conductor Prof. Leon Shiu-wai Tong. Enlighted by Prof. Tong, Kelvin’s passionate expression for music with a sharp mind for details is manifested in the enchantment of his baton.

Being as the Deputy Principal of St Stephen’s College Preparatory School in Hong Kong, Kelvin has been conducting the School choir for winning numerous champions and grand prizes in Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.

He has also been leading the Choir to concert tours in Austria, the U.K, Germany, Poland and Beijing. In 2015, Kelvin conducted the Choir and the world famous Tapiola Choir to perform at Helsinki Rock Church. In 2018, the Choir attained the Gold Diploma and the Category Champion of children’s choir competition in 2018 Bratislava International Youth Music Festival. It was also the overall champion of the choir categories in the Festival. Being as the Deputy Director of Hong Kong Treble Choir, Kelvin has been leading the Choir to perform on many local and international stages in Hungary, France, Russia, Estonia, Italy, Slovakia, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and different cities in China with tremendous success. Under Kelvin’s baton, the Choir achieved the following international choir competition awards:

2009: First in the 4th China Treble Choir Festival Competition and attained “The Outstanding Treble Choir of China Award”;
2010: Gold Diploma in the 8th Cantemus International Choir Festival in Hungary;
2012: Gold Diploma and the Category Champion of children’s choir competition in the 10th Singing World International Choral Festival in Russia;
2015: Gold Diploma and the Category Champion of children’s choir competition in the 4th Florence International Choir Festival in Italy;
2015: Gold Diploma and the Category Champion of children’s choir competition in 2015 Bratislava International Youth Music Festival in Slovakia.

Kelvin is now the Secretary General of World Youth and Children Choral Artists’ Association, the Vice President of Hong Kong Treble Choirs’ Association, the Advisor and Chorus Master of True Colors Symphony (the largest all-inclusive orchestra in Hong Kong), and the Sub-Committee Member of Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. He is also frequently invited as the jury and speaker for different choral competitions and festivals.
