Panel discussion: Choirs and Covid 19
Panel discussion: Choirs and Covid 19
After two very disrupted years of choral singing we will all have rebuilding to do in our choral programs. For many of us numbers are down, the social connections between our singers weakened and our programs have lost momentum. Furthermore, our singers have lost vocal, musicianship and performance skills. And while many of us are now able to restart our choral programs, Covid 19 is still with us. Join us for a panel discussion about the impact of the pandemic on our choral programs and the issues facing choirs now and in the foreseeable future.
Panel:
Mark O’Leary – Australia (moderator)
Thomas Caplin – Norway (assistant moderator)
Tracy Wong – Canada/Malaysia
Ken Wakia – Kenya
Amy Bebbington - UK
This event is the first on in a series of round tables on specific choral conducting and musical topics. The members of the ICCF will meet periodically, also on online platforms, to discuss issues related to choir conducting, musical composition, musical analysis, teaching, and more. The topics of discussion will be proposed by the conductors themselves and scheduled by the federation. These meetings could be considered as Study Conferences with the subsequent publication of the proceedings. These activities are funded by the European Community through the Erasmus + programme.
More information about zoom-link etc. will follow.
